Dr. Selby's undergraduate degree is from Emory University, masters from Boston University, doctorate in psychology from Pepperdine University, and law degree from Ventura College of Law. She has over 20 years work in federal service.
Since 2012 she has served as the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Program Director at Europe Regional Medical Command (ERMC). It is her privilege to offer support to those clinicians who are treating Wounded Warriors.
Her most recent full-time clinical psychology practice was for the Department of Veteran's Affairs. Her clinical focus was the individual and group treatment of post traumatic stress disorder among combat veterans (approximately 58% of the practice). Her early training was psychodynamic psychotherapy. In later years she trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD and provided regular groups in that modality. She attained status as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT I) provider in 2012. For years she provided ongoing groups teaching stress innoculation (incorporating a mindfulness component) to her patients. She supports the Patient-Centered Medical Home model and is a strong believer in co-locating mental health and physical medicine resources.

As a member of the California Bar, she provided legal assistance to local attorneys on a part-time basis. Thus far her legal practice has been exclusively in the area of providing assistance to attorneys involved in civil rights litigation.
In her spare time she enjoys traveling, hiking, bicycling, watching the cat, and mulling over the impact of current world events on civil liberties.
